Get Rid of Hip Bursitis Once And for All
So what is bursitis? We have many bursae (small sacks of fluid) throughout out bodies. Their purpose is to prevent friction between joints, tendons and muscles. They normally do this perfectly and pain free; however you soon know about it when they don’t! They can become very painful and impact on your day-to-day activities, such as walking, sleeping, climbing stairs or even putting on your shoes.
We have a few bursae around the hip that can lead to pain. If you’ve been diagnosed with hip bursitis then best thing to do is to rest, apply ice and take some pain relief. Over time it can improve, however if it doesn’t, make sure you see a physiotherapist. They can diagnose the reason for the inflamed bursa and work out an individual treatment plan for you. Now if all of that doesn’t work, fear not, there are other options available such as a cortisone injection or perhaps the bursae needs draining. Always remember a proper diagnosis leads to the proper treatment.
