About Joana Pereira

Joana has received a Degree in Physiotherapy in 2013 in Portugal (Escola Superior de Saude do Vale do Ave), where she did various internships for 3 years during the course learning in different areas of physiotherapy and improving the cognitive and technical skills. She worked 3 years in one of the most recognised hospitals in Portugal treating day by day patients with musculoskeletal problems (traumas, fractures, osteoporosis/osteoarthritis problems, sport injuries, tendonitis, ligament tears, post-surgeries, soft tissue issues), neurological cases (neurodegenerative cases, brain tumours, spinal injuries, vertigo cases), paediatric cases (cerebral palsy, degenerative diseases, feet malformations, postural issues), cardio respiratory insufficiency, elderly cases (gain muscles strength, gain confidence and balance) and women’s health (pelvic floor rehabilitation, lymphatic drainage, rehabilitation post-cancer, pregnancy intervention). She was responsible for hydrotherapy sessions treating all different cases who were allowed to take benefits from hot water therapy. She arrived to London in 2016 where she started working in a private sector and since been responsible for the diagnostic, treatment prescription and functional training. Since 2017 she has been working with Physiocomestoyou with all different pathologies and doing courses to keep her knowledge and techniques up to date. Joana says that “Being a physiotherapist is not a job, is a dream!”
